CDC has made tremendous progress in building long-lasting public health systems to create a healthier and safer world for us all. In this issue of Updates from the Field, you will learn how our epidemiologists, veterinarians, statisticians, communicators, and other subject matter experts work closely with ministries of health and other partners in over 35 countries to develop and strengthen public health systems.
When pathogens change and adapt, new diseases emerge. As the world becomes increasingly connected, diseases travel faster and farther than ever before. Outbreaks are an ongoing threat that require proactive public health solutions. Sustainable health systems are key to that solution.
