Destinations | Travelers' Health | CDC

Before you go

1. Use our destination tool and check the health risks for your host country. You can also find country-specific vaccine, medication, and health advice.
2. Make an appointment with a healthcare provider at least a month before you go.
3. Pack a travel health kit.
4. Enroll in STEP with the US Department of State.
5. Consider getting travel health insurance.

During your trip

Follow the local laws! Health tips include:
• Always wear a seat belt
• Prevent bug bites (and the diseases bugs carry)
• Consider bottled drinks and food that is sealed, peeled, boiled, or fully cooked
• Use condoms
• Seek healthcare if you feel sick

After your trip

If you feel sick, call your doctor and tell them where you traveled.
