Pediatric anesthesiologist Julia C. Finkel, M.D., has developed AlgometRx, a first-of-its-kind handheld device that measures a patient’s pupillary response and provides a diagnostic measurement of pain intensity, pain type and, after treatment is administered, monitors efficacy.
