 #ALT#A look at HDAC antibodies

Many vital cell programs such as regulation of transcription, progression of the cell cycle and other developmental occurrences depend upon the two-way acetylation-deacetylation of highly conserved lysine residues inside the N-terminal tail domains of the histones at the DNA core. The acetylation of histones proceeds dynamically, in accordance with the level of activity of two competing sets of enzymes, the histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs).

Researchers develop DNA nanorobots that target breast cancer cellsResearchers develop DNA nanorobots that target breast cancer cells

Researchers have developed a DNA nanorobot that recognizes HER2 on breast cancer cells, targeting them for destruction. The nanorobot could one day replace monoclonal antibodies, they say.

New DNA Microscopy Technique Offers Novel Insight into Genomic Information in CellsNew DNA Microscopy Technique Offers Novel Insight into Genomic Information in Cells

Scientists are now able to see inside cells to a genomic level with a newly invented imaging technique called DNA microscopy. Using DNA “bar codes”, DNA microscopy allows scientists to locate a molecule’s position in a sample without using any kind of optics, meaning genomic information can be collected in large amounts.
