SAMHSA, ACF and NCDVTMH Webinar Series: Recommendations and Collaborative Strategies for Systems and Organizations
In March 2019, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Administration for Children and Families (ACF) issued a joint Information Memorandum calling for increased collaboration between domestic violence, mental health, and substance use disorder treatment service providers, organizations, and systems. The Information Memorandum addressed the fact that while domestic violence has significant mental health and substance use related effects, the lack of collaboration between service systems often leaves survivors and their families without viable ways to address both safety and recovery needs. Building on NCDVTMH’s October 16th, 2019 webinar introducing the joint Information Memorandum, the second webinar in this series will highlight collaborative partnerships in two states, Maine and Alaska. This webinar will also highlight concrete strategies for service systems and organizations on implementing collaborative responses to these intersecting concerns.
